At the local Mühlenredder School complex in Reinbek, a 21 kWp pv-system has been installed and completed in July 2006, which generates current for a 4-person household.

At the Gertrud-Lege-School, also in Reinbek, another 18 kWp pv-system was installed by SunEnergy and Mircosol. This system has been financed by "Sonne für Reinbek" ("Sun for Reinbek"), a local club devoted to the proliferation of pv-systems. Students can read the output of this pv-system from a huge display. At a huge "solar-party", this pv-system on the school's roof has been inaugurated from Schlewsig-Holstein's minister for the environment, the school principal, and the city's mayor.
